Why Teach?

Why Teach?

Education is a very important part in everyone's life. It is the pathway to our future and our success. Teaching comes in many different ways and provides different subjects. Growing up, I had always admired the teachers I had for what they did and felt as if they did not get enough credit as they deserve. Till this day, I still look back at them and feel so fortunate to have had the amazing teachers I had lead me to where I am at today. My mom and grandma were teachers and I always knew it was something that I would want to do as well. I find something so special in being able to help guide others and teach them new things and also be able to build a connection with them. Being able to have the opportunity to get to learn about new things every day that I currently apply to my life now is such a special thing to have.

I want to be able to teach grades Pre-k through 5th grade. My reasoning for this is because I love working with children. I want to be able to help guide them into a better future and teach them new things that will hopefully stick with them just like my previous teachers did for me. As future generations come along, I believe it is so important we are setting good examples for them and guiding them into the right direction. I hope to teach all subjects to my future students because I want to provide them with different forms of creativity within their learning. Having an open mind and being able to realize the ways you are able to apply it to your learning is something I would like to show them. I think we as humans are capable of so much more than we think we are and I hope I am able to help them see that.

  1. Your respect for teachers and teaching is so evident in this post.

I love that you see teaching as a creative endeavor, too. Teaching students how to be creative is a creative act itself, isn't it?

It definitely is, it is a huge eye opener if I do say so myself.

  2. Hi Diaynara,
I also believe it is important that children have people setting good examples for them and pushing them in the right direction. Working at a preschool and being able to watch students grow and progress is truly amazing.

    1. I could not agree more Shalondra! Seeing the growth they do along with knowing they have received so much important information throughout their learning process that has stuck with them is for sure something so special.
